'Big Boss' reality show in trouble

{image-Big Boss_13102008.jpg www.oneindia.com}Mumbai, Oct 13: The police have summoned the producer and broadcaster of the television reality show, Big Boss 2, to give their statements on a complaint registered against the channel and four participants of the show for allegedly promoting obscenity.

A youth leader of the Congress had filed a complaint against Payal Rohatgi, Sambhavna Seth, Raja Choudhary and Rahul Mahajan (all participants) for promoting obscenity and using foul language in the show. The police also registered a complaint against the production house, Endemol, and the channel, Colors. The police received a written complaint on Oct 4 and asked the channel to furnish recordings of the show. They examined the content and found substance in some of the allegations.

The Andheri police registered a complaint on Saturday, Oct 11 and summoned the channel and production house officials for their statements. Senior inspector Pradeep Suryavanshi said, "Prima facie, we found that they engaged in obscene acts. We called the channel representative and programme producer for their statements. After that, we would take appropriate action.'' The police said they would collect more supportive evidence in the case before taking action against those mentioned in the FIR.
