Kolkata, Oct 13 (UNI) Bengal cricket captain Laxmi Ratan Shukla sees his selection for India Green in the Challenger Series for NKP Salve Trophy in Cuttack as an opportunity to prove his potential for India's ODI matches in future.
Allrounder Shukla said he was thankful to the selectors, saying that he was extremely zealous about playing in India senior in the ODIs.
The national selection committee in Bangalore yesterday announced names of India Blue, India Red and India Green and four Bengal players, who played in the inaugural IPL.
Three other players - bowler Ashok Dinda for India Blue, batsman Manoj Tiwari and wicket keeper Wriddman Saha for India Red - have booked berths in the three-team limited overs Challengers Trophy to be played from October 23-26 in Cuttack.
Shukla said his performance in the IPL prompted the selectors to pick him for such competition where India's top players will be seen in action.
