SLSSS demands arrest of Christian leaders in Swamiji murder case
Bhubaneswar, Oct 12 (UNI) Swami Laxamananda Saraswati Sradhanjali Samiti (SLSSS) today alleged that one Raphel Cheenath, Congress MP Radhakanta Nayak and Christian leader John Dayal were the conspirators behind the killing of Swamiji and demanded their immediate arrest.
SLSSS general secretary Laxmikanta Das regretted that though 50 days had passed since the murder of Swami Laxamananda Sarswati and four of his disciples, the main culprits and conspirators had not yet been arrested.
On the other hand, in the name of peace the police in Kandhmal were torturing and arresting innocent people and creating panic among the tribals, he alleged.
Mr Das said thousands of people from different tribal villages had fled to the jungles and were starving fearing police repression.
The samiti members, who held demonstration in front of the state Assembly here, condemned the police atrocity and demanded the government stop 'harassing' innocent people if it sincerely wanted peace to be restored in the trouble-torn district.
