Adilabad, Oct 12 (UNI) Six people, including two children, were today charred to death at their residence in Vottoli, allegedly in connection with recent clashes in this district of Andhra Pradesh.
The Andhra Pradesh Government had ordered a thorough inquiry into the Vottoli incident and asked the inquiry officer to submit the report within thirty days.
The State Home Minister Jana Reddy who arrived here for an on-the spot study of the situation, visited Bhainsa and Vottoli, where the incidents occurred in the early hours today and assured stringent action against the culprits.
Mr Jana said a thorough inquiry would be conducted into the communal clashes in Bhainsa and Vottoli, where six persons, including three children were charred to death at their residences, allegedly in connection with the recent clashes in this district.
He said Rapid Action Forces(RAF) from New Delhi would be positioned in the sensitive areas to maintain law and order along with the local police.
After visiting the victims' families he said after consultation with the State Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy, the Government would announce suitable relief packages to the victims in the communal clashes.
However, tension prevailed at Bhainsa town in view of the few incident at Vottoli. The situation at Nirmal and Asifabad were under control, police said.
