''Union Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar is asking the farmers to quit planting sugarcane and plant other crops or take up other jobs, but by losing projects like Nano to other states they are not even able to generate employment,'' Mr Thackeray said.

Mr Thackeray urged the farmers to demand Rs 1,800 per tonne of sugarcane and warned that the sugarcane factories will not be allowed to cut the crops if their demand is not.
