KPCC President hints at seat adjustment with JD(S)
Mangalore, Oct 12 (UNI) Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president R V Deshpande today said if the High Command gave its approval, the party in the state was ready to hold discussions with the Janata Dal (S) on seat adjustment for coming eight assembly by-elections.
Mr Deshpande, who was in the city to attend a private function said, ''However, the party has not taken final decision in this regard but if the High Command accords green signal we are ready to hold talks with the leaders of Janata Dal (S)''.
To a question, he said the process of selection of the party candidate for the coming by-elections would be finalised soon.
Clarifying that there were no differences with Mr Siddaramaiah Mr Deshpande said as he was a senior party leader an appropriate position would be offered to him by the party and added the office-bearers of KPCC would be appointed soon.
He said the state government should take every steps to create a congenial atmosphere in the state, particularly in undivided Dakshina Kannada so that people live a contented and peaceful life.
