Bathinda, Oct, 12 (UNI) Harpal Kaur of Sangrur emerged the fastest woman runner as she covered the 100 metres dash in 12.50 second to win the gold in the Punjab State Games for women being organised by the Punjab Sports Department at the Sports Stadium here today.
Manisha of Jalandhar got silver by completing the race in 12.71 seconds and Supreet of Muktsar had to ramain satisfied with a bronze medal as she clocked 12.81 seconds.
In gymnastics, Gurdaspur bagged the team championship with 234.40 points. Patiala were runners-up with 210.80 points and Jalandhar remained third with 177.30 points.
In the all-around best gymnastic compeptitions, Gurdaspur girls claimed all the first three positions. Monica was declared the best with 47.90 points, Gulwinder and Naginder, both of Gurdaspur were declared second and and with 47.40 and 47.30 points, respectively.
In badminton Jalandhar outplayed top seed and defending champions Amritsar 2-0 and stormed in the final where they will face second seed Patiala who defeated Nawanshahar in the second semifinal.
