Cross border trade will be biggest ever CBM's: PoK Delegation
Jammu Oct 12 (UNI) A delegation of 19-member traders from Pakistan- occupied-Kashmir (PoK) that arrived here today to finalise the border trade with India, said trade across the Line of Control (LoC) will become one of the biggest Confidence Building Measures (CBMs).
''We are here to bridge the gap between trade and economy between both the countries,'' Zulfikar Abbasi, chairman of Chamber of Commerce (PoK), who is heading the delegation told reporters, while addressing a gathering of industrialists and business entrepreneurs terming the visit historical.
Mr Abbasi, however, hoped the bottlenecks in trade modalities would be removed once the trade begins and expressed that other traditional routes like Mirpur-Noshewra, Suchetgarh-Sialkote could also lead to better trade links.
''The delegation is here to establish business and trade relations that will lay the foundation for trust and mutual understanding to end in a peaceful ties,'' Khawaja Farooq, secretary, Muzuffarabad Traders' Federation added.
Meanwhile President of Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) Jammu, Ram Sahai also termed the initiative an important milestone in the history of Jammu and Kashmir and hoped that it would boost the economy of the two region.
