Pak NSA arrives, to discuss security situation on Monday
New Delhi, Oct 11 (UNI) Pakistan National Security Advisor Mahmud Ali Durrani arrived here this evening on a five-day visit to India for talks with his Indian counterpart M K Narayanan on the security situation in the region and combating terrorism.
Mr Durrani and Mr Narayanan will hold delegation-level talks on monday on majors to counter growing terrorism in the region and the resurgence of Taliban, sources said here today.
Mr Narayanan will host a lunch in honour of his Pakistani counterpart on Tuesday.
Mr Durrani will also call on Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee and BJP President Rajnath Singh the same day.
He will leave for Lahore on Wednesday, the External Affairs Ministry said.
Pakistan has recently suffered a series of terrorist attacks, the latest being suicidial attack yesterday in its northwest Orakzai region, in which more than 20 people died and 70 were injured.
A suicidal attack on September 21 at Marriott Hotel in Islamabad had claimed more than 50 lives and injured over 150 people.
