Lahore, Oct 11 (UNI) Coach Geoff Lawson stated that he is enjoying his job and has no plans to step down before the end of his two-year stint.
''Why should I quit as a coach. I am enjoying my job and am looking forward to completing my two-year term,'' he was quoted as saying by 'Daily Jang' today.
Lawson's term ends next July and before that Pakistan will play a home series against India in January next year and the World Twenty20 Championship in England in June.
According to the media reports, the new Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) regime is unhappy with his performance.
PCB's new chairman Ijaz Butt has expressed dissatisfaction over the results achieved by Lawson during 14 months as coach.
However, Lawson refused to comment on media reports and stated that he is still focussed on getting the best out of his players and they are eagerly waiting the home series against India.
''I'm not into Pakistan cricket politics. And will only brief the new PCB chairman about my performance as a coach. We are all eagerly looking forward to the series against India. I am confident that my team will be ready for it,'' he concluded.
