Judicial probe required for Burhanpur violence: Cong
Bhopal, Oct 11: Alleging that the Burhanpur communal violence, which claimed five lives so far, was preplanned, Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee President Suresh Pachouri has demanded a judicial inquiry into the incident. Mr Pachouri submitted a memorandum to Governor Balram Jakhar last night and urged him to initiate stringent action against those who were involved in the communal violence, says a party release.
The state Congress chief has appointed former union minister Aslam Sher Khan and Ajay Ojha as the party observers and asked them to file a report about the violence.
Targeting the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party for the violence, state Congress vice-president Arif Aqueel, MLA, also said a conspiracy might have been hatched to disturb communal harmony in the state.
