Congress demands judicial probe into Burhanpur violence
Bhopal, Oct 11 (UNI) Alleging that the Burhanpur communal violence, which claimed five lives so far, was preplanned, Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee President Suresh Pachouri has demanded a judicial inquiry into the incident.
Mr Pachouri submitted a memorandum to Governor Balram Jakhar last night and urged him to initiate stringent action against those who were involved in the communal violence, says a party release.
The state Congress chief has appointed former union minister Aslam Sher Khan and Ajay Ojha as the party observers and asked them to file a report about the violence.
Targeting the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party for the violence, state Congress vice-president Arif Aqueel, MLA, also said a conspiracy might have been hatched to disturb communal harmony in the state.
