Kapurthala, Oct 11 (UNI) Bholath Congress MLA, Sukhpal Singh Khaira today asked the district administration to prevent the relaying of foundation stone of a water supply scheme by former SGPC president Bibi Jagir Kaur at village Akbarpur falling in Bhoalth assembly constituency.
In a letter to Deputy Commissioner here today, he said the foundation stone of water supply scheme at Akbarpur was laid by him on November 29 . He alleged that present village sarpanch, Gurbachan Singh had damaged the foundation stone at the behest of Bibi Jagir Kaur .
He demanded the registration of a case against the culprits who had damaged the foundation stone. He said the water supply scheme in 32 villages in the Bholath sub division was funded by NABARD, a central government agency during the previous Congress regime.
He warned the administration that he would resort to a peaceful and democratic protest in case the administration failed to take any action against the culprits.
On the other hand Deputy Commissioner J M Balamurugan when contacted said no stone was officially laid at village Akbarpur on the water supply scheme and there was no hitch in laying the foundation stone by Bibi Jagir Kaur.
