Zaheer scalps five as Australia is dismissed for 430

By Staff

Bangalore, Oct 10 (UNI) Zaheer Khan took three quick wickets after tea as Australia were all out for 430 in their first innings on the second day of the first Test against India being played at the M Chinnaswamy stadium here today.

Michael Hussey was the last man out after making a superb 146 that enabled Australia to take command over the Indians. Despite taking the first wicket in the first over this morning, the Indians could not penetrate the defence and the deftness of Hussey.

At the tea break, Australia were 416 for seven with the left hander going strong. But Zaheer came pumped up after the break and clean bowled Brett Lee and Michel Johnson besides Hussey in a spell that read 5.5-0-15-3 to put an end to the Aussie innings.

In the morning, Ishant Sharma, who was the pick of the Indian bowlers, took three wickets but Hussey stood like a rock denying the Indians to make an early end to the visitor's innings.
