Mysore Oct 10 (UNI) Karnataka Major and Medium Industries Minister Murugesh Nirani today announced that a new industrial policy would be announced shortly.
Speaking to newsmen here after meeting the industrial establishment persons he said undeveloped land in the industrial areas is one of the highlight in the policy. It was almost ready for its implementation. The government has taken initial measures like taking back undeveloped industrial lands as a step to boost industrial growth in the state.
Stating that the government strictly prohibit use of industrial lands other then establishing industrieis, he said the government was not under presssure over its plan of bringing out a transparent mining policy and added that the industrial policy, textile policy and mining policy will come out in the next 30 days.
Karnataka industrial area development board (KIADB) has been asked to take back the land allotted to entrepreneurs in industrial estate if they have not established industries on the land even after 10 years and reallot them to other new entrepreneurs who have approached the board, he added.
The Minister said global investors convention will be held in Bangalore on January 15 and 16 next year, after a gap of eight years this convention has been organising and inviting large number of investors from all over the world, and expecting investment to the tune of Rs two lakh crore, he added.
