Karan Singh condemns attacks on places of worship
New Delhi, Oct 10 (UNI) Senior Congress leader Karan Singh has condemned recent incidents of violence and attacks on ''defenceless places of worship'' and said arson and rape were a disgrace to religion that prides itself on its long history of tolerance and non-violence.
Speaking on behalf of an International organisation 'Temple of Understanding,' Dr Singh said literature denigrating and insulting Hindu deities was also being circulated, which should be stopped immediately as per the law.
He added that stern measures at state as well as Central levels should be taken to quell such activities and bring the guilty to the book.
The
leader
urged,
''all
right
thinking
citizens,
regardless
of
their
religion
or
caste
affiliations,
to
rally
in
condemning
such
activities
that
bring

to
our
Indian
culture
and
bring
our
great
civilisation
to
disrepute
around
the
world.''
