Jammu boy wins All India devotional song award at Katra

Jammu, Oct 10 (UNI) Jammu singer Ravi Kumar was declared best singer and won the first prize in the mega final event of the All India devotional song competition concluded at Katra town at Vaishno Devi base camp in Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir last night.

Ravi was awarded a prize of Rs 1 lakh in form of gold while Rs 25,000 was given to Zulekha Farid from Bhaderwah and Rs 15,000 was presented to Menu Atwal of Phagwara, Punjab for being first and second runner-ups respectively.

Besides, Bollywood personalities including producer- director Mukesh Bhatt, managing director of Venus tapes and records Ganesh Jain, owner Tips records and tapes Ramesh Torani, trade analyst and producer Vikas Mohan, chief executive officer Baba films Ajay Acharya, and vice president Zee Jagran Barkha Arora, were the judges of the mega final.

Many singers from across the country participated in the competition organised as a part of nine-day long Navratra festival.

The event was organised jointly by the Jammu and Kashmir department of tourism and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi shrine board (SMVDSB).
