Jammu, Oct 10 (UNI) Security forces foiled another infiltration bid in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir,when an Army jawan was killed during exchange of firing on the line of control (LoC), sources here today said.
''An army jawan was killed as a group of militants, tried to infiltrate into Indian territory at Nadari post in Keri sector late last night,'' sources told UNI.
Sources said a group of militants tried to enter into the Indian territory from Nadari post and in a bid to sneak-in they opened firing on the army personnel, who were patrolling the LoC.
The troops however, fired back on the militants and in the exchange of firing, an army soldier identified as Naik Amarjit Singh was killed.
''The firing between the militants and the army lasted for sometime but there was no confirmed reports whether the militants had managed to infiltrate into this side or retrieved to Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK),'' sources added.
