Groundnutseed, oil, RBD Palm oil ease; nigerseed rises

Mumbai, Oct 10 (UNI) Prices of groundnutseed and its oil along with RBD palm oil fell today on poor offtake, while nigerseed rose on speculative demand from stockists, traders at the Bombay Commodity Exchange said.

In oilseeds (per quintal), groundnutseed eased by Rs 25 per quintal on lack of fresh demand from bulk consumers. Castorseed Bombay and Disa also slipped by Rs 35 and Rs 40 per quintal respectively, amid sluggish demand by stockists.

However, nigerseed shot up by Rs 50 per quintal following sustained demand by stockists.

In oils (per ten kg), groundnut oil and cottonseed refined declined by Rs five per ten kg each, on persistent offloading by stock holders. Castor comm and Kandla also dropped by Rs seven and Rs 10 per ten kg respectively, amid low buying support by bulk consumers.

Sunflower exp ref recovered by Rs five per ten kg, on improved demand by industrial users.

All de-oiled cakes remained unchanged on scattered buying by stockists, traders added.
