US missile attack kills nine in tribal Pak
Islamabad, Oct 10: In a fresh US attack, two missiles have been fired by a suspected US drone in a residential compound in the Tapai area of North Waziristan tribal region near the Afghan border on Thursday, Oct 9 night, killing at least nine people. Officials said, three bodies had been taken out of debris. Identity of the deceased could not be ascertained, but it is learnt that some Arab nationals are among them. Local people said they saw columns of smoke rising from the area after the plane fired two missiles.
The officials said the targeted place belonged to a tribesman, Sultan, in Pirano village, east of Miramshah, the administrative centre of North Waziristan. Tribesmen, fired at suspected spy planes in different parts of North Waziristan.
Witnesses said the tribesmen used AK-47 rifles and heavy machineguns and forced the planes to return to Afghanistan.
