Election Commission rejects lakhs of bogus applications
Mumbai, Oct 10 (UNI) Former BJP MP Dr Kiriti Somaiya today said that the Election Commission has rejected several thousands of bogus voter applications.
Stating that the rejection took place mainly in 20 assembly constituencies of Mumbai, Mr Somaiya told reporters that the Chief Election Officer Debashish Chakrabarty has fought out the design of enrolling Bangladeshis in the voters list by rejecting their applications.
He said the Maharashtra government should take stern action against all the bogus people trying to get enrolled in the voters list.
The Election Commission should ask the State Government to take action within seven days and report back to the commission.
