New Delhi, Oct 10 (UNI) A win in the 50,000 dollar Bitbuger Open last week helped ace Indian shuttler Chetan Anand to climb eight places to the 22nd position in the latest world badminton rankings.
Chetan has 35750 points in the rankings which was released yesterday.
The national champion had won two back-to-back titles in a span of more than one month. First he won the Czech International title last month and later he clinched a Grand Prix event when he won the 50,000 dollar Bitbuger Open title at Saarbruken, Germany.
Arvind Bhatt, who finished runners-up in the Bitburger Open, has also surged four places up to 36th while Olympian Anup Sridhar was at the 37th spot.
The mixed doubles pair of V Diju and Jwala Gutta, who were the first Indian pair to win a grand prix event by clinching the Bitburger Open mixed doubles title, climbed 25 places to the 55th spot.
