Chambal terror Parihar joins Samajwadi Party
Lucknow, Oct 10 (UNI) After bandit queen Phoolan Devi another terror of the ravines, Seema Parihar, has announced to join the Samajwadi Party.
The woman dacoit made the announcement to this effect during Samajwadi Party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav's rally in Oraiyya district today.
Once the terror of Chambal, Parihar, had fought the last Lok Sabha election from Mirzapur constituency as the candidate of the Indian Justice Party (IJP).
Inspired by the Chambal queen, film director Krishna Mishra had made a film 'Wounded' on her life.
Parihar had 36 criminal cases pending against her like loot, murder, abduction and other such heinous crimes.
During the last LS poll, Parihar had expressed her wish to be an MP like Phoolan Devi and said would focuss on the rehabilitation of surrendered dacoits. She said provision should be made to rehabilitate the dacoits, who had ''picked up weapon'' after succumbing to circumstances or under pressure.
Parihar, who surrendered in the year 2000 considered Phoolan as her idol and wants to be a Member of Parliament like her.
Parihar, a resident of Bebahan village was abducted by the kingpin of Kusumanine gang Lalaram at a tender age of thirteen.
She reportedly had two husbands, Nirbhaya Gurjar and Lalaram, and a son.
''I never wanted to pick weapon but circumstances compelled me to do so,'' she said.
According to SP party sources, hundreds of Parihar's supporters had also announced to join the party.
