Mysore, Oct 10 (UNI) General Officer Commanding, AP, Tkareas, E J Kochekkan, today announced that there will be a bigger display of Military machines from next year onwards during the Dasara festivities.
Speaking to mediapersons here he said for the first time the Army machines, including war tanks, light aircraft and guns were brought to the city on the request of the state government for display during the Dasara festivites. He assured that from next year the Army would display its machines in a more attractive way to give a better insight to the people about the Indian Army.
The response was very good and present display of machines would be extended upto October 20.
Referring to the lack of interest among the youth about the Army, he regretted that the big state like Karnataka has very less representation in the Army. The reason may be Karnataka which holds highest percentage of jobs in the Information Technology the educated youth have been preparing to join the corporate houses rather then joining the Armed forces.
He denied the allegations of selection process of candidates in the Army and assured that in future also the process would be transparent, on merit and no scope for any biasness or corruption will be there.
