8 minors drown in MP
Bhopal, Oct 10 (UNI) Eight minors, including seven girls, drowned in the last 24 hours in different parts of Madhya Pradesh, police said today.
Four minor girls drowned in a pond in an attempt to rescue each other from drowning at Umraoganj area in Raisen district today.
The unidentified girls of age group 8 to 10 years went to take bath.
Three bodies were fished out while one was still missing.
In another incident, three minor girls, including two siblings, drowned in a pit filled with water while having bath at Gosalpur area in Jabalpur district yesterday.
Heer Bi (10) and Sitar Bi (8) with their neighbour Suhani Shah (8) went to the pit for bathing. A search was launched when the girls did not return home till late night.
Their clothes were spotted near the pit while a girl's body was also found floating on the water. The bodies were fished out.
Dhar-resident Santosh (17) drowned while immersing idol in a lake in his town yesterday.
