Reconciliation Soccer match for underground factions
Kohima, Oct 9 (UNI) With the aim to bring reconciliation, unity and peace among all warring Naga underground faction, a reconciliation soccer match was organised by Nagaland Christian Forum (NCF) this afternoon.
It was played between Naga underground groups and Civil societies and Churches.
A joint team of NSCN-IM, NSCN/GPRN, Naga National Council(NNC) and Peoples Support Group(PSG) from Manipur named as 'HOPE' fought with the joint team of Naga Hoho, Naga Peoples Movement for Human Rights (NPMHR), Naga Students' Federation (NSF), Eastern Nagaland peoples Organization (ENPO), Forum for Naga Reconciliation (FNR), United Naga Council (UNC-Manipur) and Church leaders, named as 'FAITH'.
At least four Kilonsers (ministers) three from NSCFN/GPRN and one from NNC and 13 Deputy Kilonsers- eight from NSCN-IM, three from NSCN/GPRN and two from NNC took part in the soccer match along with the other ranks of the four outfits.
C Singson, Kilonser of NSCN/GPRN led the HOPE team, while the FAITH team was led by Dr N Venuh of NPMHR.
Mass prayer was conducted, white balloons released as the symbol of peace by Naga Mothers' Association (NMA) President Kheseli Chishi on the occassion.
FAITH team won the match by 3-1.
After the match all the players and referees made a circle in the field and the Church leaders put one 'Cross' at the centre of the circle and a Mass prayer was organized for reconciliation, unity and peace.
