Raipur, Oct 9 (UNI) Congress Working Committee Member and former Chhattisgarh chief minister Ajit Jogi has claimed that several compact discs (CDs) were in existence in connection with many leaders of the state's ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) but refuted the possibility of involvement of Congress in the controversial Jaggi case CD that surfaced recently.
''I have CDs of several BJP leaders but will not divulge them at the petty level,'' he said in response to media queries at a social gathering last evening. Pointing out that several ploys were adopted during polls, Mr Jogi added that they should not go below standards.
On being asked about a controversial CD related to the 2003 murder of Nationalist Congress Party state Treasurer Ram Avtar Jaggi, he responded that the judiciary had already taken cognisance of the case and legal experts believed this amounted to clear contempt of court.
When being told of reports that his rivals in the party were behind the entire sequence of events, Mr Jogi said, ''I hardly feel that any party member will take such an ignorant step or advise anybody to do so.'' Advocating sting operations, Mr Jogi however said that the time was ripe to set guidelines for them and everybody could not be given the liberty to stage such operations.
