Aizawl, Oct 9: The latest hike in the pay scale for group A officers in the state surprised the entire all India services fraternity here.

Mizoram cadre IAS and IPS officers yesterday formed an emergent co-ordination committee in reaction to the government notification dated October 4, 2008 regarding the hike in group A pay scale.

'' We have taken a very serious note of it as it is certainly going to affect the entire administrative set-up in the state, All India Services Co-ordination Committee (Mizoram) said in a memorandum to the chief minister today.

The memorandum cited the case of R K Singha, who has recently been promoted to the post of Secretary under secretariat service quota, as an example.

This officer will sit on Rs 18,400-22,400+500 scale which means that he overtakes a few IAS officers much senior to him in terms of pay scale it said, adding, premier services officers being overtaken by a non-graduate who entered through clerical line will have a serious impact on the administrative set-up.

According to the memorandum, the government notification has hiked the entry grade of group A officers to Rs 10,000-15,2000, which is higher than that of all India and central services and that of group A officers in bigger and more developed states. If revocation of the order impossible, the state government should at least allow us to enjoy the national entry grade Rs 12,000-16,500, the premier services officers demanded the chief minister.
