Dussehra celebrated with traditional fervour in UP
Lucknow, Oct 9 (UNI) People of Uttar Pradesh today celebrated Dussehra, popularly known as ''Vijaya Dashmi'', commemorating the triumph of Lord Ram over Demon King Ravana.
After nine-day-long ''Navratri'', people were seen celebrating Dussehra with traditional pomp and ceremony in the state, including the capital city.
Fair was organised at different localities in the 'city of Nawabs', where the effigies of Ravana, Kumbhkaran and Meghnath were burnt as a symbol of victory of divine over evil.
Besides, 'Ramlila' showing triumph of Lord Ram was performed at the fair.
Colourfully attired people were seen thronging the mela premises.
