Ashok Leyland Sept sales dip 14.56%, exports up 52.5% y-o-y
New Delhi, Oct 9 (UNI) Ashok Leyland Ltd, the country's second biggest maker of trucks and buses, today said it sold 6,186 units during September 2008 as compared to 7,241 units in the same period a year ago, registering a decline of 14.56 per cent in sales.
However, its exports grew 52.5 per cent in September at 732 units as against 480 units in the year-ago period.
The company cut down its production in September to 4,873 units, which was 6,546 units in the year-ago period, it said in a statement.
It manufactured 41,233 units and sold 35,632 units during the first six months (April-September) of the current fiscal.
