Afzalpur receives 8 cm rain

Bangalore, Oct 9(UNI) Following is a summary of observations recorded by the weather office here at 0830 hrs today.

Southwest monsoon was weak over Coastal Karnataka and North Interior Karnataka. Rainfall occurred at a few places over South Interior Karnataka and at isolated places over Coastal Karnataka and North Interior Karnataka.

Heavy rainfall amounts (cm): Afzalpur 8, T Narsipura 7 Other Chief amounts of rainfall (cm): Nagathan, K.R.Sagara 5 each; Subramanya 3; Virajpet, Kushalnagar, Kottigehara, Hallimysore, Bangarpet 2 each; Rabakavi, Sedam Jayapura 1 each.

Temperatures: Maximum temperature appreciably fell at many places over North Interior Karnataka and changed little over Coastal Karnataka and South Interior Karnataka. They were appreciably above normal at most places over Coastal Karnataka; above normal at a few places over South Interior Karnataka however below normal at a few places over North Interior Karnataka. Bellary recorded highest maximum temperature of 31.8 degree celsius over the State.

Minimum temperatures changed little and were normal over the State. Chamarajanagar recorded lowest mininmum temperature of 18.1 degree celsius over the State.

Forecast valid until Saturday morning: Rain/thundershowers likely to occur at a few places over South Interior Karnataka and at isolated places over Coastal Karnataka and South Interior Karnataka.

Farmers Weather Bulletin: Light to moderate rain likely to occur at a few places over all the districts of South Interior Karnataka and at isolated places over all the districts of Coastal Karnataka and North Interior Karnataka.

Local forecast: Partly cloudy. Rain likely. Maximum and minimum temperatures will be around 30s and 19 degree celsius respectively. UNI TS1512
