Team India fully geared up for series: Kumble

By Staff

Bangalore, Oct 8 (UNI) Skipper Anil Kumble today said the Indian team was fully geared up to meet the challenge of the visiting Australian team in the four Test series beginning here tomorrow.

''The preparation is good. We had three weeks of rigorous workout and the Irani trophy tournament has also given ample practice. We have done everything to keep fit to meet the challenge posed by the Australians'' Kumble said in his Test eve comments to newspersons here.

On the pitch connditions he said it seems to be a very good wicket for a Test match. ''Since it is my home city, I want to take full advantage and would like to start the series on a winning note. I take the call on the pitch and will bowl accordingly.'' About the sledging episodes in the last series against Australia involving Harbhajan Singh and Andrew Symonds, Kumble said ''past is past but I assure that this series would be played in the right way.

We have learnt many lessons and the mistakes will not be repeated.'' To another question, he said ''we cannot take the visiting team lightly. We have also worked out the strategy to take on Australian batting as well as bowling.'' UNI MSP VK VV AB SSC1341
