Chandigarh, Oct 8: The arrival of the Paddy and Bajra in the mandis of Haryana is picking up and over 10.96 lakh tonnes of paddy and over 2.47 lakh tonnes of Bajra have already arrived in the mandis during the current Kharif season so far.
Stating this here today, a spokesman for the Food and Supplies Department said that out of the total paddy arrival, 6.88 lakh tonnes had been procured by government agencies at the minimum support price and the remaining about 4.08 lakh tonnes had been purchased by the private millers and traders.
He said that Hafed had procured 2.82 lakh tonnes of paddy, Food and Supplies Department 2.16 lakh tonnes, Confed had purchased 94,046 tonnes, Haryana Agro Industries Corporation 71,872 tonnes and FCI 468 tonnes.
He said that district Kurukshetra was leading with the arrival of 3.54 lakh tonnes , followed by Karnal 2.60 lakh tonnes, Fatehabad 1.40 lakh tonnes, Kaithal 1.21 lakh tonnes and Ambala 80,790.
Out of the total Bajra arrival, 2.29 lakh tonnes had been procured by government agencies at the minimum support price and the remaining about 18,795 tonnes had been purchased by the private traders.
