Ahmedabad, Oct 8 (UNI) The Indian Air Force celebrated its 76th anniversary at Headquarters South Western Air Command (HQ SWAC) here today.
Air Marshal KD Singh AVSM ADC, AOC-in-C SWAC administered the pledge of allegiance to all the personnel of HQ SWAC, according to Wing Commander Satish Menon.
AOC-in-C highlighted the achievements of the IAF and the contribution of the Command during the preceding one year, including successful conduct and participation in various Operational Exercises both at home and abroad.
He appreciated the high degree of professionalism and hard work displayed by all personnel in achieving the ordained responsibilities.
He emphasised that this was a transition phase, where the IAF was involved in large scale upgradation of its war waging capabilities and infrastructure.
It is therefore, essential for everyone to keep pace with the changing technologies and hone their skills to match the exacting demands that the latest technology places on them.
SWAC had taken part in International exercises and proved its acumen. The performance of our Air Warriors in the Red Flag in the USA was the most recent example, Air Marshal KD Singh said during his address.
This was the culmination of week-long celebrations that commenced on October 3.
