New Delhi, Oct 8 (UNI) Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit and Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee chief Jai Prakash Agarwal today condoled the untimely demise of senior Hindi Journalist Umesh Lakhanpal.
In her condolence message, Ms Dikshit described Lakhanpal as an institution in Hindi Journalism and a man of integrity.
''Lakhanpal was a dedicated scribe who devoted his energy in educating young journalists. His contribution in enriching Hindi Journalism would always be remembered,''Ms Dikshit said.
Condoling the death of the veteran journalist, DPCC president Jai Prakash Agarwal described him as a journalist with a sharp insight into the political scene in Delhi.
Former DPCC chief Rambabu Sharma also expressed his condolence over the death of Lakhanpal.
Chief reporter of well known Hindi daily 'Punjab Kesari', Umesh Lakhanpal today died following a heart attack.
Lakhanpal, 50, suffered the attack while he was sitting at the office of Leader of Opposition in Delhi Vidhan Sabha Jagdish Mukhi's office at Old Secretariat.
He died on the way to hospital.
