Cong to seek suggestions from public to form election manifesto
Hyderabad, Oct 8 (UNI) The All India Congress Committee (AICC) would seek suggestions from the public on the issues to be included in the party's election manifesto for the coming polls.
Addressing a press conference here today, Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee President D Srinivas said a Central Election Manifesto Committee, headed by External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee, had already been formed. State-level committee would be formed soon, he added.
Claiming that the Congress had implemented all the promises made in the election manifesto during 2004 elections, he reiterated that the party was committed to people's welfare.
He said the APCC would receive suggestions from the public on any issue, examine its feasibility and send it to the AICC, if relevant, to include in the manifesto.
Asked whether the party would consider to include suggestion for separate Telangana, he said all the suggestions would be examined by the party. ''Ultimately it is the central leadership which would prepare state and central election manifestos,'' he added.
