Chopper makes emergencing landing for bad weather
Kohima, Oct 8 (UNI) Bad weather forced a Pawan Hans helicopter, coming here from Guwahati, to force-land at the Government High School ground at Jotsoma, about ten KM from here yesterday.
Official sources said the chopper was hired by Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio to visit Noklak town in Tuensang district today to attend a function there.
The helicopter was supposed to land at the helipad of the 26th Assam Rifles. But due to poor visibility the pilot decided to land at the available visible field below.
They informed the matter to the Assam Rifles who engaged their guards to man the choperr. The crew members consisted of the pilot, a co-pilot and two technicians.
This morning the helicopter arrived at the 26th Assam Rifles helipad where Mr Rio and his entourage boarded it.
