Chennai, Oct 7 (UNI) The Tamil Nadu Government would soon unveil an Integrated Textile Policy, Minister for Backward Classes and Handlooms K K S S R Ramachandran today said.
Mr Ramachandran announced this after discussions with senior officials at the Secretariat here, an official release said.
Representatives of South Indian Spinning Mills Association, Tirupur Exporters, Powerloom industry and those connected with textile industry participated in the meeting and gave their suggestions for formulating the policy.
Handloom Secretary Viswanath Shegeonkar, Director R Jaya and Co-optex Managing Director M P Nirmala were among those who took part in the meeting.
Mr Ramachandran said based on views and suggestions made by those attended today's meeting, the department would prepare the policy and unveil the same after getting the consent of Chief Minister M Karunanidhi.
