Sanuth's rich haul puts Kerala on strong wicket

Chennai, Oct 7 (UNI) A five-wicket haul by Off-spinner M E Sanuth helped Kerala bowl out Tamil Nadu for 206 in the first innings on the opening day of the four-day South Zone Under-22 Cricket Match for the P Ramachandra Rao Trophy here today.

Batting first, the home side lost an early wicket. But opener Abhinav Mukund (45, 84 balls, 7x4) and Ra Aravind (52, 106 balls, 9x4) added 88 runs for the second wicket in 26.4 overs to sustain the innings.

Once they were separated, rest of the innings fell apart as Tamil Nadu lost its way from 92 for one and crashed to 206 all out.

N Einstein (27), J H Gopinath (25), M Prabhu (25) all got starts but failed to build on.

In reply, Kerala were 57 for two in 25 overs. They lost two wickets with just eight runs on the board, before Abhishek Hedge (36 batting) steadied the boat.
