New Delhi, Oct 7 (UNI) BJP Chief Ministerial candidate in the coming Delhi Assembly election Vijay Kumar Malhotra today rubbished the news report suggesting that the panel probing into the cash-for-vote scam had exonerated Samajwadi Party (SP) General Secretary Amar Singh and Congress leader Ahmed Patel.
Mr Malhotra, also party's Deputy Leader in Lok Sabha and Parliamentary Party spokesman, told UNI that the panel at no stage discussed or considered the draft report, prepared by V Kishore Chandra Deo headed seven-member House Committee.
He, one of the seven-member committee, said the report was circulated to the panel members when the meeting was about to be concluded and the members could not even have time for glancing at the report.
''There was no time for discussion or consideration of that report at this meeting. The panel will consider it on October 17 when we will meet again,'' the BJP MP said.
Mr Malhotra clarified that such being the case, there was no question of the panel exonerating Mr Singh and Mr Patel as widely reported in media.
The draft report had discounted a video clip and the bag displayed in the Lok Sabha by three BJP MPs on July 22.
