K'taka Govt to constitute committee to woo Nano
Bangalore, Oct 7 (UNI) In a determined bid to bring Tata Group's small Car project, Nano, to Karnataka, the state government has constituted a high-level committee of officials headed by Industry Minister Murugesh Nirani to hold talks with Tata Motors.
Brifing newspersons on the decision of the state cabinet which met here today, Karnataka Home minister Dr V S Acharya said the committee, headed by Mr Nirani has been authoraised to negotiate with Tata Motors to bring the project to the state.
He said the Committee would meet the officials of Tata Motors and convey the state government's offers including allotment of land, rebate in taxes and other related issues if the promoters set up the plant in Karnataka.
''The State government will act proactively in pursuing the Tata Group to establish their small car project Nano in Karnataka'' he said.
Replying to questions Dr Acharya said he was not aware of Tata Group's inclination to shift its Singur plant to Gujarat.
