India announces 20 M dollar assistance to Palestine

New Delhi, Oct 7 (UNI) India today announced a 20 million dollar assistance to Palestine and reaffirmed its consistent support to a negotiated solution to the Palestinian issue based on relevant UN Resolutions, the Arab Peace Plan and the Quartet Roadmap.

The financial assistance which includes a grant of 10 million dollars as budgetary support to the Palestinian National Authority (PNA) to help meet its immediate requirements and an additional 10 million dollars as assistance for development projects, was announced by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh at the foundation stone laying ceremony of the Palestinian embassy building here.

The Prime Minister who held talks with visiting Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas XXX Picking up forth para of DI 16 'External-India-Palestine', New Delhi.
