HRC report to stop mispropaganda about Salwa Judum : CM
Raipur, Oct 7 (UNI) Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh today said the clean chit given by the Human Rights Commission to 'Salwa Judum' would stop the mispropaganda about the movement.
''The commission has put an end to doubts hovering over the organisation. This report, narrating the nefarious activities of ultras, also unmasked those who were mispropaganding about Salwa Judum for long,'' Dr Singh told reporters while reacting about the commission's report.
He said the report not only fulfilled the peaceful movement of the organisation but also boosted the morale of the members. This report also encouraged its supportes and the government as well, Dr Singh added.
The Chief Minister also defended the state government's decision to provide arms to the Speical Police Officers, saying, it was necessary for the self-defence.
Significantly, the HRC gave clean chit to the state government on Salwa Judum movement on the basis of a verdict against a petition filed in the Apex court.
In the 118-paged report, the three-member panel of the commission narrated about how Maosit rebels, were unleashing terror in the region.
