England's 1966 World Cup win is 'Brits' Most-Watched TV Event'

London, Oct 7 : England's epic World Cup victory in 1966 has been named 'The TV Event Watched By Most Brits'.
A vast audience of 32.3 million people tuned in for the nerve-tingling win over West Germany at the old Wembley Stadium.
And yet just 15million households owned a TV set at that time, reports the Sun.
The funeral of Princess Diana at Westminster Abbey in 1997 drew 32.1million. Third in the list was 1969's Royal Family documentary, which attracted 30.69million viewers.
At number four was Dirty Den divorcing Angie in a 1986 'EastEnders' Christmas show, for which 30.15 million viewers tuned in.
The failed 1970 Apollo 13 moon mission, seen by 28.6 million, rounded off the top five.
