Bhadohi, Oct 7 (UNI) Ruling Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) MLA Archana Saroj passed away after a prolonged illness at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi late last night.
Saroj (37) was not keeping well for the past few months and had slipped into a coma before three weeks.
On Saturday, she was admitted to AIIMS, where she breathed her last.
The body was today brought to her native village here.
Meanwhile in a message, Uttar Pradesh chief minister Mayawati expressed grief at the demise of the BSP MLA from Bhadohi.
The CM said the party has lost a dedicated leader after her death.
Prior few days, Mayawati had even visited the SGPGI in Lucknow, where Saroj was earlier admitted, to enquire about her health.
