Mysore, Oct 6 (UNI) Display of war planes, guns, tanks, rocket launchers and other war machines will add colour to the ongoing Dasara festivities here.
This was for the first time war machines would be included in the 'Jamboo Savari' (Dasara Procession) to be held on October Nine.
Dasara Tableaux Committee Chairman G Madhushdan told newspersons here today that in all 42 tableaux would participate in the procession.
Tejas, the Light Combat Aircraft, manufactured by HAL would also be a part of the procession, he added.
Meanwhile, the famed T-72 army tank, which had played a stellar role in the Kargil War, arrived here and it would be on display till October 15 at the Dasara Exhibition Ground.
The district administration is giving final touches for the grand finale. Fifty-year-old Balarama, the elephant which will carry the golden howdah in the procession, took the centrestage in Mysore Palace premises where the rehearsal for jumbo savari is going on.
Meanwhile, the last scion of Mysore royal family Srikantadatta Narasimhraja Wodiyar performed Saraswathi Puja in a traditional manner inside the palace.
Pujas were performed in various temples at the Mysore Palace premises, besides special puja in the Chamundeswari temple atop the Chamundi hills.
