Virdhawal Khade to be flag bearer in CYG

Pune, Oct 6 (UNI) The 17-year-old swimming sensation of Maharashtra, Virdhawal Khade was today named as the flag bearer in the Commonwealth Youth Games (CYG) 2008.

Secretary General Maharashtra Olympic Association (MOA), Prof Balasaheb Landge will be the Chef-de-Mission of the Indian contingent taking part in the CYG, which will be held at the Shiv Chhatrapati Sports City Mhalunge-Balewadi from October 12 to 18.

Addressing a mediapersons today, the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) and 2008 CYG Oraganizing Committee chairman Suresh Kalmadi made these announcements.

Mr Kalmadi informed that the young aspirants, who win medals, will be picked up and trained in preparation for the 2010 Commonwealth Games to be held in New Delhi.
