Hyderabad, Oct 6 (UNI) Ahead of the crucial meeting of the Polit Bureau, the highest decision-making body of the opposition Telugu Desam Party(TDP), tomorrow, the five-member Core Committee on Telangana today submitted its report to Party President N Chandrababu Naidu.

The party, which had consistently been opposing the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh, will decide at the meeting whether to back the demand for separate Telangana state, an issue which split the party with, one of its seniormost Polit Bureau members and former Home Minister T Devender Goud quitting the party to float pro-Telangana Nava Telangana Praja Party.

The five-member Committee, comprising senior party leaders K Yerran Naidu, N Janardhan Reddy, Y Ramakrishnudu, K E Krishnamurthy and E Dayakar Rao, has completed the task of eliciting the views of the partymen and people from various walks of life on the sensitive issue.

The party is weighing the pros and cons of aligning with the Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS), which had fallen out with the ruling Congress, and also directly plunging into an agitation for statehood for Telangana, the sources said.

The TDP supremo had constituted the Committee following persistent demand even from within the party for formation of Telangana state and TRS pressurising the Congress-led UPA government on the eve of by election to concede statehood for Telangana.
