"Series win will be fantastic step towards becoming best team":Paddy

Bangalore, Oct 6 (UNI) Indian Cricket Team Conditioning Coach Paddy Upton today said India team's win in the four-test series against touring Australians would be a big step in becoming the best team in the world.

In a chat with newsmen here, he said, ''the series win would be a fantastic step towards becoming the best team in the world.'' He, however, said that no additional pressure was put on the players to achieve the aim. ''We are trying not to put too much pressure on the team to win from within but this series win would be a great achievement.'' ''We obviously want to win all the series that we play. It would be a big step to win the series.'' Replying to a question, he said, ''one of the foundations of mental toughness is excellent preparation. It's like walking into an exam. If you've studied the whole book, you feel confident. If you've cut corners, there's no confidence. We've made sure our preparations have been really, really good. So, when the players go out on the field, there's not going to be any surprises.

''We are focusing on our game, on our strengths, we are focussing on what we are good at doing. We've got a few strategies and tactics for individual players (Australians) and the team (Australia) as well. But, essentially the focus is on team India and the individuals in the team.''
