Political parties criticise TRS alliance with CPI(M)
Hyderabad, Oct 6 (UNI) Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS), which has reached a political understanding with the Communist Party of India (Marxist), drew criticism from other parties for ''its rank opportunism.'' Talking to newspersons here today, BJP former National President Bangaru Laxman, reacting to the ''political understanding,'' reached ahead of the general elections, between TRS President K Chandrasekara Rao and CPI(M) National General Secretary Prakash Karat in New Delhi yesterday, said Mr Rao was doing a disservice to the Telangana movement.
Meanwhile, State Congress Chief spokesman P Venkata Rao told newspersons that by deciding to forge an ''opportunistic'' alliance with the CPI(M), which was opposing the formation of Telangana State, the TRS had thrown all norms and principles to winds.
Senior Nava Telangana Praja Party leader E Peddi Reddy questioned the TRS decision to go for an understanding with the CPI(M), which was all along opposing the Telangana formation.
He alleged that the TRS was hobnobbing with the CPI(M) to isolate the Y S Rajasekhara Reddy Government in the coming Lok Sabha and Assembly elections.
